Shift Change – Conversations Between Generations

How do work, family, and responsibility change from one generation to the next? In his works, Zwickau painter Edgar Klier captured the everyday life of people in the GDR: workers, families, and children. His wife, the artist Erika Klier, also frequently depicted the lives of women and families in her drawings. In this open discussion format, we will look at selected works together and enter into a conversation about memories of daily life in the GDR and what has changed between generations up to the present day.
