Chemnitz
Traces of Success. Jewish Entrepreneurs in Chemnitz.
The exhibition sheds light on the work of Jewish entrepreneurs whose innovative spirit and social commitment significantly shaped the city's industrial development – and whose contribution to economic success was brought to an abrupt and violent end through expropriation and persecution during National Socialism.
Featuring well-known companies such as Gebrüder Becker, Sander & Graff, and Siegfried Peretz, which were primarily rooted in the textile industry, the Chemnitz Museum of Industry brings this important facet of Chemnitz's industrial history back to life during Saxony's thematic year of Jewish culture "Tacheles".
