Holiday Programme: Glitter & Gold

What makes a work of art special? Often it is not just the painting itself, but also its magnificent frame that captures our attention. Together, we will discover selected paintings and sculptures. Why were they gilded in the past? Why was gold considered a symbol of value and significance? And how does a frame change the way we look at a picture? After exploring the exhibition together, we will then create our own works of art on small canvases using texture and gold pigments.
