Poetry Slam – Saxon Championships 2026

At the Poetry Slam, creative minds compete against each other, spitting, reciting, and performing their self-written texts – sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, always authentic.

Would you like to participate? Do you want to weave tales of love, truth, and betrayal? Or furiously throw the system's injustice right in its face? Anything can happen. WRITE A TEXT. Find a place where you can be creative. There is no right or wrong! GET IN TOUCH WITH US. We will arrange a date with you, you'll receive all the info, and then: SHOWTIME. Let's go! How a Poetry Slam works: At a poetry slam, poets, stage writers, and wild wordsmiths duel each other. Armed with spoken words and wit, they perform their original works. Then it's the audience's turn to judge the performances with thunderous applause.

Participation Rules:
1. The text must be self-written! Quotes must be clearly identified! Whether poetry, prose, stand-up, or rap – any form of text is welcome.
2. There is a time limit! Performances should settle between 5 and 10 minutes.
3. Props! It's all about you and the text (regardless of whether the object relates to the text). A sheet of paper with your text is allowed if needed.
4. No costumes! Please do not dress up in costume, so the texts aren't distorted. On stage, you look just like you always do.
5. No singing! Regardless of whether someone sings well or poorly. A sung part before a slam is permitted upon prior arrangement, but not during the slam.
