The Rochlitz–Narsdorf–Penig railway line was opened in 1872 by the Royal Saxon State Railways, making it even older than the Muldentalbahn. In 1990, the last train ran on the Narsdorf–Penig section, and in 2002, the Rochlitz–Narsdorf line was also decommissioned. Since 2017, the association IG Muldental BahnTourismus e.V. has owned the line.

Today's heritage railway line of the Frelsbachtalbahn between Rochlitz and Narsdorf is approximately 9.4 kilometers long. It winds its way from the Mulde Valley in Rochlitz through a beautiful natural landscape, along the Frelsbach stream through the Köttwitzsch Valley to Narsdorf. In doing so, the railway overcomes an altitude difference of 110.5 meters.

Rides take place in open carriages pulled either by the maintenance vehicle KL 51 "Fritz", the track motor car SKL 25 "Karl", or the MAV "Piroska".

Boarding and disembarking are possible at both Rochlitz station and the Narsdorf halt.

Ticket price: 14 euros, 7 euros for children aged six and older
