Train Rides at the Markersdorf-Taura Museum Station

For 100 years, the railway once chugged through the Chemnitztal valley from Wechselburg to Chemnitz. Today, the Chemnitztal cycle path runs along the old route. A small section in the most romantic stretch, the Schweizerthal, is now used for the museum railway. By the way: Markersdorf-Taura is preserved almost entirely as a country railway station, complete with a station building, outbuilding, mechanical signal box, water station, goods shed, and granary.
