Out and About with the Master Cook – A Culinary Foray through the Renaissance Court Kitchen in Three Courses

Experience one of the castle's most authentic rooms in full swing: crackling fires, steaming pots, tantalising aromas, and a cook who occasionally laments the burden of his craft!

How did people cook back in the day on an open hearth? What made it onto the table? Alongside history and tales of historic culinary arts, samples from 16th-century cuisine will be served, accompanied by – usually clean – water, wine from ancient grape varieties, and naturally cloudy beer.

Join Michael Kreskowsky on an entertaining discovery tour through Rochlitz Castle, where you will discover fascinating facts and, above all, plenty of amusing anecdotes about the castle. Afterwards, take your seat at the lavishly set table in the rustic black kitchen, where a delicious 3-course meal prepared according to historical recipes will be served up by the master cook himself.
