A tour guide will show you the historic rooms of the castle and guide you through the history of the Princes of Schönburg-Waldenburg. From its beginnings as a 12th-century fortress to the challenges of four devastating fires, a vivid picture of the past will come to life.

Discover the magnificent grand staircase hall and admire the impressive historic halls such as the Blue Room and the Yellow Room. The historic library (English country house style), the Mirror Room (Rococo), the Tapestry Room (Baroque), and the Chinese Room with hand-painted silk wallpaper from the 18th century showcase an intriguing mix of architectural and decorative eras.

By the way – did you know that in 1914, Waldenburg Castle was the most modern castle in Germany, fitted with a wide array of advanced technology? We will reveal all this and more during a guided tour of the princely rooms. Reservations are recommended.

Tour prices include admission to the exhibitions on film and architectural history, the organ exhibition, the history of the hospital, and the exhibition dedicated to Princess Eleonore of Schönburg-Waldenburg.
