Chemnitz Christmas Market

From the Markt and Neumarkt, across the Rosenhof and Jakobikirchplatz, all the way to Düsseldorfer Platz and Innere Klosterstraße, downtown Chemnitz transforms into an atmospheric sea of roasted almond scents and Christmas magic. In the lovingly decorated wooden huts, vendors offer their goods until December 23 – from small gift ideas to festive culinary treats. A varied program awaits on the large stage by the town hall.

A special highlight awaits you on November 28 at 2:00 PM: That's when the traditional miners' parade marches through Chemnitz city center. Around 700 participants in historic uniforms, along with 400 mining musicians and singers, create an impressive sight and a festive sound that brings the downtown Christmas atmosphere to life in a truly unique way. Large Ore Mountain figures, such as the five-story Christmas pyramid, music box, candle arch (Schwibbogen), miner and angel, nutcracker, and snowman whisk visitors away into the magical Christmas world of the Ore Mountains.
