Ferdinand Schumann (1875–1954) was the only grandson of the great composer to complete a degree in music. During Clara Schumann's final years, she raised her grandson in her Frankfurt home and gave him piano lessons until just weeks before her death. At the same time, however, he also trained as a pharmacist, a profession he practiced in Reinsdorf near Zwickau from 1929 onwards. Through pictures, letters, and documents, this special exhibition documents his multifaceted life and his relationship with his grandmother.
