Glauchau Christmas Market

Thousands of lights, festive scents & sounds, and culinary treats will enchant the people of Glauchau and their guests, young and old alike, during the Glauchau Christmas Market and get everyone into the holiday spirit. Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of activities to join in, marvel at, and enjoy across various areas. Let yourself be whisked away on a pre-Christmas stroll between the historic marketplace with its large stage and children's carousel, the colorfully decorated atrium with a teddy bear village and children's railway, the popular Christmas post office featuring a wish-list mailbox and Santa's consultation hours at Dr.-Dörffel-Straße 1, along Schlossplatz with its medieval mile and the Stadtwerke Glauchau ice rink in front of the castle, all the way into the festively decorated Christmas garden in the Forderglauchau castle courtyard.

Friday, December 4, 2026 from 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Saturday, December 5, 2026 from 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday, December 6, 2026 from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

For children, the Christmas market will once again be a truly special experience. The children's railway operated by Eisenbahnfreunde Kaufbeuren e.V. will make its rounds in the festively decorated atrium. In the popular Christmas post office, guests young and old can write their wish lists to Santa Claus, while arts and crafts activities invite them to linger. With "Trudi's Erlebnis-Weihnacht", an exciting Christmas scavenger hunt awaits all visitors with great prizes in store.

The medieval mile along Schlossplatz brings medieval life and crafts back to life. You can watch artisans weaving, blacksmithing, carving, leatherworking, and dipping candles, or even try your hand at it yourself. In addition, medieval woodwork and pottery are available for purchase. Culinary delights are also plentiful here, featuring a covered wagon tavern as well as savory and sweet treats.

The festively decorated Christmas garden in the Forderglauchau castle courtyard once again welcomes its guests with exquisite culinary cuisine, delicious mulled wine & freshly made waffles. Take a seat and enjoy the illuminated castle courtyard and wonderful food. On Saturday, the traditional slicing of the Stollen cake will take place against this unique backdrop in the presence of Lord Mayor Marcus Steinhart and Bäckerei Rabe.

Enjoy the varied program across the castle grounds, marvel at the Christmas exhibition at Museum Schloss Hinterglauchau, or spend some time in the Christmas café or at the media flea market in the festively decorated library.
