Movie Night: "Das Buschgespenst" (1986)

Fitting for the winter season, the Karl May House invites you to a special screening of the 1986 Karl May film adaptation "Das Buschgespenst" ("The Ghost of the Forest"). The story takes us to the snow-covered Ore Mountains of the 19th century. In the poverty-stricken border village of Hohenthal, a gang of smugglers wreaks havoc, led by the notorious "Buschgespenst". When the wealthy Franz Arndt returns to his old home, he sets out to find the truth about a long-past injustice. In doing so, he comes dangerously close to the gang's machinations and finds himself in their crosshairs. We welcome guest Andreas Herrmann, who plays the role of Eduard Hauser in this regional crime film. In a personal discussion, he will provide insights into the filming and reminisce together with the audience about the making of the film. Light refreshments will also be provided. Look forward to a cozy and suspenseful evening in a genuine cinema atmosphere.
