The true-to-life scenes revolve around the years 1843/44, when Robert Schumann had just completed his choral work "Das Paradies und die Peri" and set about composing Goethe's "Faust". Thomas Synofzik plays from the piano reduction "without words" to "Das Paradies und die Peri".
