“The Wave”
Teacher Ben Ross's students consider the topic of the “Holocaust and Fascism” in history class to be long outdated and are convinced that something like Nazi rule would no longer be possible today. The teacher therefore decides to conduct an experiment at the school to show the kids just how mistaken they are.
He founds 'The Wave', a movement with totalitarian traits. The class's new sense of community soon ensures that anyone who refuses to join is declared an enemy and ostracized. 'The Wave' turns into an ever-swelling flood that threatens to sweep everyone and everything away with it.
The experiment has succeeded, and the damage is perhaps irreversible?

Morton Rhue's 1981 novel 'The Wave' is based on true events: a social experiment in the USA with which history teacher Ron Jones sought to warn his students about the appeal of fascist movements in 1967.
