Theater: "Behind the Enchanted Window"
A mysterious Advent story | By Cornelia Funke | Adapted for the stage by Vera Ring
There's nothing inside at all! No toy, no chocolate, just a picture of a dusty attic?!? Well, thanks a lot, how boring can this old, painted Advent calendar be? Julia is only nine after all; she wants to look forward to Christmas for at least 24 days, and then this disappointment is lying on the kitchen table. At least the little calendar house sparkles and gleams a bit. So it can stay for one night. But the next morning, the coat in the picture is gone! Looking very closely, she now wonders who lives here, what might be behind the other windows, and whoosh … … the waiting is finally over! A great joy and immense honor for Jakobus Jammernich and the other residents! It has been years since a child visited the calendar world. Many doors are already closed forever, windows firmly nailed shut, and one neighbor is even missing without a trace. Julia arrives just in the nick of time, breathing new life into the place with her imagination! But not everyone is thrilled, especially not Prince Leo, who is planning to demolish the calendar world to build lots of new chocolate houses there. Look forward to a sparkling Christmas fairy tale, look closely, and uncover the secrets behind the enchanted windows with Julia and Jakobus.
Director: Matthias Huber, Set & Costume Design: Lioba Lea Bangert, Dramaturgy: Hanna Rüd With Lodi Doumit, Juliane Krug; Martin Esser, Marius Marx, Philipp Rosenthal, Günter Schoßböck
Premiere November 5 | 10:00 AM
Ticket prices: €5.00–€25.00
